The world we live in is absolutely nuts.

So, I've been studying in Italy for the past few months and I was able to take a weekend trip over to England. Scott lives in England. He and I have been what I'll now call "21st century pen-pals" for a few years, and I exercised the idea of meeting up. And we did.

And we jammed. And it was awesome.

Seriously, this was one of the coolest things I've done in my life. The dude (all jokes aside) is a kick ass drummer, host, tour guide and overall lad. We both put a lot of trust and faith into meeting up (who knows, he could've been one of those 56 year old internet pedos, right?). Instead he turned out to be one of the most genuine and generous folks I know. I'm excited to say I've made a new lifelong friend.

This is my mini-documentary of my weekend in London and Basingstoke. Since Coheed and Cambria are essentially the reason we know each other, there was lots of excited fanboy talk about the band. We then decided it'd be cool to cover one song from each of the albums, bring us to 33, Three Evils, Crossing the Frame, The End Complete, and this Shattered Symphony. We also threw in Semi-Fiction by The Fall of Troy just for shits. And man, was I rusty (you can tell!). A few months without guitar was killing me, so it felt good to have an instrument in my hands again.

A full version of The End Complete will be on his channel here!:

Like I said before, I know we'll be in contact for a long time. Which certainly means we'll be able to make music again. Lots to look forward to.

Until then, rock on brother!

  • Great story, great music, I'm sure you'll cherish this for the rest of your life

  • @saicam910 Thanks man :D yeah, that weekend with Sam was some of the best days of 2011 for me. I just hope that Claudio and co truly understand how much they're bringing people all over the world together.

  • I fucking love you guys. found both of you individually around the same time I came across the heed, then later I saw you guys did that international cover together and I was amazed. Don't even know how long ago that was, but seeing this today nearly brought me to tears. Five long years of being a fellow guitarist, fellow drummer, and fellow lover of the band, it's great to see other people with the same amount of passion. I'll never forget you guys, or the band that made this all possible.

  • dude those jams sounded and looked like fun xD

  • hi hat kinda sounds like jingle bells

  • @Theguitarmansam Thanks man. I thanked Josh over twitter and he responded as well. If you're ever in the Dayton/Cincinnati OH area, I'd love to be shown how horrible of a guitarist I am. How long are you gonna be abroad?

  • @XaleManix ah man, condolences my friend. You have been a consistent admirer / commenter / supporter of everything I do, and it's a real bummer to hear that :( i'm so sorry.

  • @weirdretard23 Did I hear Clown's part from the breakdown of Psychosocial at the start?

@Theguitarmansam Thanks to you both, massive, massive thanks to you both. I really only got into the heed as much as I did after hearing a lot of their stuff from you, and the friends I've made following the band have really helped me through some hard times, especially this last week, as my mother passed unexpectedly on my parent's 23rd anniversary in San Antonio (she was away on business). Thanks again.

  • - like when Harry Potter was flying by Parliament.
