@muz554 hate me now and you owe me are just 2 examples, but what you fail to realize is that regardless of how DEEP a lyric can be, if it's surrounded by a bunch of materialistic words in the process, the message can be lost in translation, and rendered pointless. It doesn't matter if he mentions it once or twice, if he BRAGS about material things, then it is what it is... materialism. And for the record i don't care for Jay z much. PEACE

@muz554 First off, I've been a Nas fan for the past 16 years. I never said his lyrics weren't deep, or Illmatic wasn't a classic. The materialism I speak of started in " It was written", and carried on for a few records, until Jay-z got in his ass which took Nas back to the frame of mind that spawned Illmatic, and then Stillmatic. And if you don't think that rapping about material things such as yachts, money, cars, and mansions is materialism, then I don't want what your ass is smoking. PEACE
