Poor Butterfly by Frans de Wijs Errol Garner style

Frans de Wijs plays the beautiful composition"Poor Butterfly"* a popular song inspired by Puccini's opera Madame Butterfly.

The music was written by Raymond Hubbell, the lyrics by John Golden. The song was first published in 1916. It became a pop standard, recorded by many artists. The most popular interpreters of the song however were: Elsie Baker and the Victor Military Band. There's also a beautifully sung version by Judy Garland online.

Frans de Wijs was famous for his interpretation of the Errol Garner style as you can hear in this wonderfully melodic and soft jazz number. He seems to float over the piano keys taking the listener on a romantic journey in music.

The images accompanying the music were taken on a sunny autumn afternoon during the rise of fall, in the inspiring woods of Gorp and Roovert near Goirle in the Netherlands.
