Part 2 of Foreword : What does it mean?
Psalm 148 declares, "Let all creation Praise the Lord." The psalmist declares, "Let them praise His name with dancing." and, "Praise Him with the timbrel and dance."
Praise can be in a variety of forms, just as many bodies of water, or rivers come in many shapes and forms. The dictionary states , "A river is a natural stream of water of considerable volume; a stream is a body of running water on the earth, a steady succession of water, a constantly renewed supply, a continuous moving procession, or an unbroken flow."
That unbroken flow of praise will form streams of resilient colors, all declaring God's glory and grace. Our passionate praise will leave a bright trail for others to follow.
Pause for Prayers : "Dear Lord, please help us to grow in your spirit to the point of overflow so that we might become like those trees bearing lasting fruit. Allow Your Spirit to take us deep into the things of God so that we might experience the joy of being a blessing to others, having our fruit served for food and our leaves for healing."
Praise is considering, exalting, and extolling God for all He has done, all He is doing, and all He will do. We must learn to take time out moments in our busy schedules to praise and worship God. We don't necessarily have to be locked in a closet or room to praise Him. We can praise God while on the go, while driving in the car, while in the kitchen, while doing chores. We can even sing songs of praise while playing with the kids. God inhabits the praises of His people, which means He is right there with us enjoying every moment and stands ready to meet our needs.
Some of the words of Kind David are, "When I consider the heavens, the works of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place; what is man that you are mindful of him? The son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings, you have crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler of the works of your hands; You put everything under his feet : all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field and the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, and all the things that swim the paths of the sea. O LORD our Lord how majestic is your name in all the earth!"
True worship goes beyond lifting hands, singing, dancing, and making music with instruments. True worship is all about the heart. The attitudes of our heart can hinder true worship and praise. Hence, it is necessary for the healing waters of the Holy Spirit to purify our hearts, out of a pure heart rivers of praise will flow.
