Normally they prey on large insects but now it's eating a bird. It uses its venom to break down the bird for eating and what it leaves is a food parcel. Golden Orb Weaver spiders are as big as a human hand but the northern species in tropical areas were known to grow larger.

  • @WhatIsThatGuyDoing2 no offence but u look gay if u say that word

  • OMG this spider just looks like giratina from pokemon!

  • Golden orb weavers can 'potentially' grow to about the same span as a human hand, but 3 or 4 inches across is more like the average. Cases of certain large spiders feeding on birds caught in their webs are rare but not unknown. It should be said that so-called Bird-eating spiders in South America are only so-named because of their size, not their feeding habits. Their name is a misnomer.

  • damned nephilidae, they make those gigantic webs that are strong enough to even catch small birds.

  • @IEatFruitCake

not fake, but this vid is gay i agree

  • Fake and gay

  • @MudGoobz

Obviously it didn't eat the video camera, thanks for pointing that out smarty pants -_-...

  • @Vleeskind

Your wrong btw, if you intend to post research at least make it accurate

The spider didn't eat the video camera, there is no video.

It appeared in a property in Atherton near Cairns, Australia, and if you had bothered to research much you would have found at least 3 diffrent photo's of this giant Tropical Golden Orb Weaver.
