The FAA (aka Aviation bill) will create or save 280,000 jobs, and is a downpayment on the jobs agenda Senate Democrats announced earlier this week. In addition to putting more people to work, this bill reduces costly and frustrating airline delays, protects the rights of passengers and modernizes an air travel system that relies on World War II technology. It is fully paid for and won't increase the deficit a penny over its lifetime.
I thought this was a bipartisan bill. Why not have some Republicans describing the new bill? Why did you not do this two years ago when "jobs" was the supposed focus. Instead you wasted time sapping our will with a government takeover of health care. I seriously doubt the 280,000 job figure. It is more likely that an equal number of people will lose their jobs as the "old technology" is phased out.

Too late should have been done pre 9/11.
