  • I L-O-V-E Hattie Winston, since her "Electric Company" days!

  • De Niro is f...awesome in this movie

  • @Transformers2themax How many De Niro movies have you actually seen? He's made about 80 films and he's played a mobster in 6 of them.

  • @Transformers2themax I haven't seen the entire film (Jackie Brown) in years. So if DeNiro is playing a former mobster, it's not something I recall about his character. In any case, he comes off in this scene like a typical southern California, aging hippie stoner. Perhaps an East Coast transplant. (SoCal is full of them.)

  • @bapyou Uh, his character in the film is technically a former mobster. Every role he plays, his accent comes in. Brad Pitt may not have done the best Southern accent in Basterds, but at least it was different than his usual speech pattern. Robert De Niro's a good actor; he just gets typecast.

  • @Transformers2themax He looks like a mobster in this scene to you? I don't think so at all.

Plus, DeNiro has played roles other than mobsters. You misrepresent him. Taxi Driver was not a mobster role. Have you seen Bertolucci's 1900? You misrepresent and pigeonhole his work.

  • @bapyou To me, he came off as the usual Italian mobster he plays in other films. He's a good actor, being able to perform entire 5 minute shots; but I feel as though he's limited when it comes to the roles he can play. Samuel L. Jackson usually plays a badass, but I've seen even him in completely separate roles.

  • Tarantino was so cagey casting DeNiro as a SoCal stoner. So funny!

  • This scene isn't really meant to be funny but De Niro and his facial expressions make it hilarious!
