On Thursday May 5, 2011 J Street board members and donors visited one of FoEME's Neighbors Path stations in the Gilboa. The station, "Overlooking the Neighboring Community - Jenin," is located atop Giborim (or Mazar) Mountain observation point and was mapped by Gilboa residents and FoEME's Gilboa field staffer Noa Fishman Inbar.
Dr. Yousef Sadek, FoEME's field staffer in Jenin, discussed the success of FoEME's youth camps at building trust between youth from Israel, Palestine, and Jordan. Dr. Yousef emphasized the importance of building relationships between youth from different communities as they will one day be leaders and decision makers.
The group then hiked up to the location of an ancient wine press where Noa Fishman Inbar showed some of the activities FoEME has held at the spot.
Gidon Bromberg, FoEME's Israeli Director, rapped the event up with an appeal to the J Street group to support grassroots activities, such as FoEME's, that bring together people from across borders to create relationships between people from different nations, not just leaders.
