  • Hi, I have a question and it's really stupid. I went for my second swimming session with a friend and was working on floating (I'm 20 and 5'9''; the shallow pool is 4'). I had so much trouble getting my feet back on the ground that I was really spooked and terrified that I flailed like crazy and that has been traumatizing for me. I do want to learn how to swim, but I just need to know the proper and natural way of getting my feet back on the ground after floating. Thank you.

  • @MoMiangGuoSing Hi, don't worry. When you get ready to stand up raise your face out of the water and at the same time bring your knees up to your chest. Then just stand up. Take care, Robert

  • hello I am 13 years old and sometimes i go camping with my friend they have a huge pool at the camping place and i go in with her i have tried swimming i could sort of swim but i just don't feel safe like if somethings going to happen i was invited to go camping on Monday but i wasn't able to go so I have actually found your videos succesful but i still don't feel right when I swim it's like if I get nervous. • @northtexasswimming Wow, I didn't even get an e-mail saying that you gave me a reply. I had to come here, or else I wouldn't have seen this. I will try this again in the spring/summer. Thanks Robert!

  • wow i should have complained to my parents to take me or teach me how to swim bcuz im 17 and its kinda embarrasing watch ur cousin go to the end opf the pool or see ur friends deep in the water without u -,-!! im ashamed

  • Lol: "...this floating position is name "The dead man" or the "Superman""

I have picture my 6 years old child saying: "Look daddy I'm a dead man"

Or you can figure out who will be future goth, if they choose the dead man over Superman ^^

  • The learning video(s) are one of the best. Watching these video(s) gave me lots of confidence and there are some valuable advise given on each and every one of the video. I am an adult and never learned swimming before. after watching these video(s), plus having a coach helped me immensely. within 2-3 months i could do both freestyle and backstroke several laps. Thanks for these wonderful videos and most importantly the tips.

  • Hello I'm 15 years and I'm signing for swimming lessons next week. There is a pool that's pretty deep and I don't know how to swim but I have the feeling that I'll float with no problem cause I'm not afraid of the water(I can float on my back only). Should I try to float facing down the first time or wait?

  • @northtexasswimming @MoMiangGuoSing

yes, this is exactly what was missing from the video - the moment the girl is back on the feet. Thank you Robert very much. I'm going to the pool 1st time and will test your tips.
