  • @ Punorss - it's not the difficulty in guitar playing which makes a great guitarist but the feeling which the guitarist puts into his/her playing is just as important, & Eric Clapton is up there with the best based on that.

  • wow you obviously have no taste in music. People live by that stuff man. Clapton is a legend, dont be dissing him just because you are jealous of his talent. I have never seen ANYBODY EVER play anywhere near clapton whether it was his mayall era to cream or his solo career NOBODY sounds like Clapton. He was the first to truly put blues on the map. He transformed music and put his stamp on history with his blues rock playing. MILLIONS of people try to copy him. Dont diss him bro.

  • Everybody else has moved on! You can see young guys 15 years old on You Tube flying up and down the neck of a guitar like Superman. Clapton is still playing the same old blues scale shit he was playing in the 60's!! Times change and it is time Clapton wised up! The Blues scale is for babies! Wake Up!

  • Another two fantastic British blues guitarists. Green the master of minimalism, beautiful tone and great songs. Jeff Beck? Well, even Jimi Hendrix admitted he got some of his feedback ideas from listening to Jeff Beck.

  • What about Peter Green and Jeff Beck?

  • Well that maybe so. However, Eric Clapton was definitely in the vanguard of the British blues boom of the 1960's. I've seen lots of pub guitarists do what Clapton does. So what. It was Clapton who took the playing of the three kings and invented British Blues. Without Clapton and his enormous influence, our friends down the pub would probably have nothing to model themselves on...

  • I've seen a 100's bands over the years play better than that at the local bar week in week out. He has not improved since the late 60's

  • yeh i agree: shite hot guitar playing.

  • SHITE!

  • Good ole "slowhand"...
