Dale Farm in Basildon - The story from the Gypsies

Dale Farm and the ongoing battle over the right to live and set up home on this area in Basildon raises questions about prejudice in our society. Is this story about an authority doing what's best for a community or is land, money and assumptions about a way of life unfamiliar to most people influencing the outcome.

We interviewed some of the residents at Dale Farm and we spoke to the activists to hear their side of the story.

To give a balanced view of this subject and to open the debate we also contacted Basildon Council to find out their position and allow an alternative point of view.

when you buy land you buy it with or without planning permission the same as everyone else . you bought it the same as every other gypsy , without permission to do anything and just make up your own rules . WRONG ! obey the laws etc and you will not get problems , carry on like this and you will get nothing but aggro . there is not a country that will have you , that speaks volumes !
