with a 3s lipo, it take alot of space to get upto top speed on a vxl. if you pull the trigger too fast, youll just get the front tires off the ground. even if you are already going 40mph.

For short runs heat isn't a problem for me. And for speed, I use a little 3 oz garmin Foretrex GPS. Easy and accurate. Only 89 bucks.
-
thats gona be crazy! Just watch your temps though.

I ran my Brushless Stampede the other day. It has a 83 Spur and a 25 Pinion and I use the New Traxxas 7-Cell 3300mah and I hit 55MPH. I'm gonna try a 28 and a 31 Pinion real soon and see how it goes then.

this guy hit 65 with 25/86 gearing which is amazing! I bet you can hit way fast than 70 mph if you gear it 31/83, do another vid with that gearing
-
i broke the wheelie bar off because the pavement is really sticky for those big tires! hate when it flips end over end
-
okat thanks
what gearing is that?

Stock gearing and yes, it does go faster than 40 MPH.

mine hasnt overheated yet either, dont the vxl motors have cooling fans in em?

I really don't think so! The esc has an optional fan you can purchase, but no internal fan on the motor. The brushed version of the stampede, XL-5, comes with internal fans built into the motor.

Yes, it does. I had a friend clock it at 49 MPH the other day. I'm sure I could break 50 if I had enough pavement.
