Upon leaving her four year stint portraying Mary Magdeline in the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" The gifted Yvonne Elliman wanted an image as far from saint hood and Catholicism as she could, but more importantly, an image of her own, and there was more rock in her than anybody knew. THUS, the album "Food of Love" came about. This is BY FAR one of her BEST and unfortunately, MOST OUT OF PRINT albums, so I hope you enjoy my generosity is painstakingly putting it on for you!
Yvonne wrote and recorded this track all by herself, and it's self explanatory: about her upbringing in Hawaii. Did I mention it's also one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded? Brilliantly arranged and classically portrayed, this song employs modern rock with strings and orchestral style. And she sings like a bird here. One is easily hypnotized by the loveliness of her being in her voice.
