This solenoid engine was designed and constructed by me. I built it to look similar to a gas engine. The head, exhaust, carburetor, rocker arm and spark plug are non functional. It runs on an 18 volt rechargeable battery that came from a cordless drill. It also has an old transformer from a computer printer that will allow the engine to run on AC. The engine will run about 5 1/2 hours on one charge of the battery.

  • don't know french!

  • Thanks. The solenoid engine was much easier and more fun to build. No plans, just made each part to fit the other. Used a junk pile crank shaft and wheels.

  • My friend was trying to replicate something like this.

Its totally awesome to me and great video!

  • what's the name of that in french, please!!!

  • You do very nice work. I am most impressed and motivated by your productions. What would you say is the construction difficulty level difference between this Solenoid Engine 2009 and the Little Angel or the Silver Angel engines? Thank you for posting videos, Rafael (flyingtractors1)

  • so if you hook it up to a pulley and run it with a steam engine or another power source does it become a generator?

  • now you can satisfy the electric car people that need their cars to sound like a piston engine
