hmmmm..let me see..people that do harm in shooting sprees, such as school or church shootings ..usually find places where VICTIMS are unarmed! Case Closed. When was the last time you heard of a police station coming under fire from a shooting spree? or a gun range where ccw holders are practicing?...oh, I remember..NEVER

I saw this great video at a CCW teaparty rally. You can help get your rights back by joining th NRA, and the ISRA if you are an Illinois resident. Be active! Call and write your legislators. Don't let Quinn, Daley and their patronage army trample on what is yours. Get involved! ...Almost forgot- and vote for Brady!

AWESOME video! I hope and pray us here in Illinois finally get the right to carry!

I give up nothing. I am not the problem. Votes are.

@candiennestroke I mean to write, "The Illinois State Rifle Association," of course. And don't forget The Second Amendment Foundation. Their upcoming case is the most important 2nd Amendment case in the history of our country. They need your support. Also, if you aren't a member of the NRA, join now! I have absolutely no use for so-called 2nd Amendment supporters who don't even join the NRA. Hopefully, you are a member. Best

@Anothercoilgun With all due respect, we are winning. It sounds like you are giving up when we are winning so much. Rather than resign yourself to failure in the midst of such successes, the best thing you can do is keep writing your representatives and make donations to The Second Amendment Foundation and the Illinois Rifle Assoc. They are fighting Chicago in the Supreme Court and that decision will affect the entire country and shoot down some of your silly CA laws. It will affect us all.
-
@Anothercoilgun Huh? In case you haven't been paying attention, the law has been and will continue to change in our favor. There has been a HUGE shift towards supporting the 2nd Amendment in recent years. Even polls have shown a big shift in public support for the 2nd Amendment. In the 40 states with "Shall Issue" laws you don't have to be connected at all. Don't confuse what is going on in California with the nation as a whole. What law are you talking about?
-
@Anothercoilgun What changes are you referring to when you say "...it has already been changed against the 2nd Amendment..."? I'm curious. Sure, anti-gun laws have and are being passed but concealed carry has spread across the country in the past 20 years. The Washington D.C. case was a win for 2nd Amendment supporters and the Chicago case looks promising and will probably be an even bigger win. In fact, it may strike down the state and local laws that you must be referring to.

@fearcityinc Even the police don't understand our laws clearly. I was in a gun safety course a few years ago and there were police there to lecture on the law and they didn't even understand it. One issue about carrying in a vehicle came up which is perfectly clear, though, but the police said they would still arrest you and that they are told to do so even though you wouldn't be breaking the law. Illinois is very anti-gun. That's why are crime rate is so high, of course.
-
@fearcityinc This was something that was discussed quite a bit several years ago. I don't think the law has ever been clarified. The concensus seems to be that you shouldn't try this because you will still be charged with a crime and, even if you are ultimately found not guilty (unlikely), your defense will be very expensive.
-
@clconig I know what you mean! I live in Northern Illinois and there are no places to shoot except a few indoor ranges and very expensive and exclusive gun clubs. There is no place where you can simply enjoy plinking legally on public property. The state harasses any gun related businesses and, in fact, one gun manufacturer recently moved to Iowa because of that. Of course, jobs were lost and nobody is any safer.
Here in southern Illinois we passed concealed carry. Atleast I think we did thats what the news is saying.

10 out of 14 counties passed a resolution urging the IL legislature to pass a carry law - sadly though the resolutions do not change current law. They were advisory only.

Or just break the law and carry concealed anyway. I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. What are they going to charge a woman with when she defends her life, unlawful discharge of a firearm? Fine.

Should a woman be found carrying a loaded fiream in Illinois she would be charged with a felony - if convicted she would lose the right to even own a firearm.
Getting the law changed is better all the way around.
