Japan Podshow Special: Tokyo Koenji Awaodori 2009 (Shot with Canon HF S11)

Shot on Canon's new HF S11 without a tripod, this extra episode of http://www.japanpodshow.com features some great footage from the Tokyo Koenji Awaodori dance festival, held every year on the last weekend of August.

The festival, with approximately 12,000 performers, is one of the three largest in Tokyo, and is the second largest Awaodori in the whole of Japan. It has been running since 1957.

japanpodshow - was the recording of this video done in interlace display format? I asked this question because it seems not correct to de-interlace the recording during editing when the recording was done in progressive display format.

I think it was. My understanding is that I should have de-interlaced upon final export.

Im not sure if your aware of this or maybe forgot but the lines/artifacting in the video is because the footage wasnt deinterlaced when rendered. Depending on what editing software you use, there should be an option called deinterlace footage when you are configureing the video for rendering.

It's a beautiful camera. Yeah, I really screwed up with the interlacing. I'm sorry but I can't remember the export settings.
