- The world has almost 7,000 species of frogs, but for the first time in hundreds of millions of years, many of them now face extinction. There are lots of reasons for the decline and their disappearance is seen by many, as a warning to us all.

Frogs and amphibians are what science calls 'indicator species' -- Nature's real canary in the coalmine doesn't make bird sounds, it croaks.
"Everything the frogs encounter gets absorbed in the skin, so polluting chemicals and pesticides go right to the frog system,

  • its true, the world is on a delicate balance.

But i assure you this is the least of our problems. the worst is yet to come.

another thing that pisses me off is that this video only has 36 views at this point. it shows where our priorities our right now, huh. I have to admit, this is a bit like how the news tries to drive apocalyptic nonsence into our minds. its not as bad as it looks i assure you.

    excellent video 5 stars.

  • I think apocalyptic nonsense is an interesting phrase. Years ago, we were warned that we were harming the earth and all in it. 'SOME PEOPLE' as written above proceeded to create campaigns dispelling this truth. Had we taken action then, things might not be like they are today. How apocolyptic is it that bass in the Potomac River now are both male and female physiology as a result of pollutants going into the water?

  • Awesome video. Mammals are also being threatened in mass. This frog situation is actually half a decade old now. About a year ago I read 1/4 of mammals face extinction. It's not MAN that is the cause, as much as it is SOME PEOPLE, who are commanding the industrial infrastructure.

  • You are so right, many people are trying to do the right thing and then there are the the few who don't care.

Not about animals but also this week I saw a report that Canada still sells asbestos to third world countries, the sale is prohibited in Canada but we export this deadly product. The final insult is that there is a 20 million subsudy to promote the sale of asbastos. No government MP would talk about the policy.

  • Wow. Ouch. When the truth hits, it hits hard. I'm honestly speachless.

  • Yes it's serious. And our little snake is out in Black Mountain - Gopher Flats.

  • I heard we already made extinct 2% of the Animals and Plants on the Earth since just 100 or so years ago.

  • whoa this is some real shit right here

  • People should treat this problem seriously but you know why they won't? Because the leaders of their respective countries are SELFISH BASTARDS who just steal to make their own good.

  • lets all start eating frogs you guys, what.....its better than waiting to get burnt alive by a meteor

    :)

  • is all about money.

  • Thanks for posting and doing something about your concern. The human race needs to be more passionate like this guy is for our natural world. One problem is that most people are physically removed from the natural world and live in cities. We need to make our cities more connected with nature, our individual purchases and food choices more connected with solutions, and support organizations that are working in the field to stop needless destruction in places where most people just never see it.

  • Not to downplay the urgency or importance of this video, but some of the species mentioned, like the Cheetah and the Panda, have become so over specialized that they are unable to adapt to the environment that continues to change in spite of man's involvement.

  • oh.. my god.. Where are we going? The extinction rate is thousands of times more than the natural extinction rate. Undoubtedly it is because of man. The population increase is so much that there is no space for people to live. They are cutting forests, using fertilizers, and chemicals, killing animals for food. If we go in this directions with in couple of hundred years the world along with human beings will die out... Save earth... Think about it before it's too late
