Orfeus was a professional 3-channel ZX Spectrum 48k music editor made in former Czechoslovakia. It offers two tone and one drum channels and the interface looks quite similar to famous Wham!. It is obviously using only the beeper of the Spectrum and as for the sound quality can be easily compared to advanced "beeper engines" like those found in D. Whittaker's Codemasters or Special FX releases (Jet Bike Simulator, Firefly...). Oh wait, the last demo song presented here IS actually a Firefly variation - just compare the two... Proxima Software naturally used this advanced sound engine in many of their own games. Orfeus is considered as one of the best 48k music editors around even we know there is still a man called Tim Follin.

  • hey man, pls explain. loading screen is actually from orfeus, but the program itself is called WHAM machine or so... wham could play two notes and one drum at a time as seen. orfeus could reproduce 8 notes played simultaneouslyl and no drums.

  • @ajpoz no in this video it's the actual ORFEUS made by Universum and it can play 2 voice channels + 1 drum channel all together meaning 3 channels at once... which I think is not possible in WHAM, according to manual you can even import songs made in WHAM...

  • @maiki60fps sorry 2 TONE channels + 1 DRUM channel...
