My comments were a little harsh. I apologize. Still, the English language has rules about proper pronunciation. I went to public school in Illinois and was taught proper pronunciation of the states. Some in Illinois pronounce the s at the end of Illinois but that is improper and not just a matter of accent. In Missouri, those who pronounce the end as AH are also improper. I think all Americans would do well to, at least, attempt to use proper English based on spelling. Education!

There was actually a STATE VOTE years ago to decide if the state would be pronounced with an EE or an AH....
This is not ignorance , it is an accent that is particular to certain parts of the state !!!

I don't trust any politician who can't pronounce the name of their own state properly.
Kinder pronounces Missouri as Missourah. How ignorant. The proper pronouncing is MissourEE. I wish these hicks would educate themselves. They are an embarrassment.
