It's not the sheer numbers (current 7 billion is too many humans, worldwide). It's the Composition. In a value-neutral term, Human Bio-diversity (HBD) decline.

@abortionequalsmurder Lot's of women still have babies but they don't remain together or get married because there are too many immature and selfish brats amongst young people today. I try to get to know my neighbours, and not ignore them, and this young woman in my estate recently had a kid, and her boyfriend/fiance dumped her simply because he wanted a different girlfriend.

A lower population is not a bad thing. It will raise living standards as more of the national wealth can be distributed to a smaller pool of people, and it will bring an end to unemployment, and make food self sufficiency a real possibility and put less strain on fishing stocks, which may be more important than people realise in the post financial crisis world.
