17 to 22 percent of white cats with non-blue eyes are born deaf. The percentage rises to 40 percent if the cat has one blue eye, while upwards of 65 to 85 percent of all-white cats with both eyes blue are deaf. Some of these cats are deaf in only one ear.
Perhaps this cat can hear something. The piano notes may be a certain frequency that make it possible.

My cat does the same thing, and he is mostly white besides a few tabby markings on his head and tail.

There's no REAL verbal communication. Words just pop out as if she can hear... but sometimes she seems to sense that we are talking to her!
