In the first light heavyweight semifinal fight of the night, Christian M'Pumbu secured his spot in the finals with a dramatic first-round TKO over Tim Carpenter. The two sparred for the first few minutes until M'Pumbu dropped Carpenter with devastating right hands for the victory. • I think the stoppage is justified. First punch rocked him, second punch got him the knockdown and if the referee had not stepped in, Christian M'Pumbu would have pounced on him with a flurry of punches and elbows. No unnecessary punishment is needed.

  • @GfpWrestling exactly.. Only the blood thristy fans are going to complain about this stoppage.. just like Daley v Diaz..

  • I reckon knocking someone out in such a fashion that they fall to the ground is good enough. Maybe he'd have recovered by the time Mpumbu started the ground and pound, but it's also quite likely that he wouldn't have, and he'd have taken some serious damage. The ref can't always wait to see if the fighter recovers from getting knocked out.

It's not as if he slipped, he's clearly out when the second one lands.

  • @letsgodudes He was out when he hit the ground, the referre did the right thing

  • Fair stoppage, he looked out of it.

  • I hope he beats the fuck out of Hale & wins the belt this coming Saturday...

  • only people that like to see someone get pounded even when their out , think that was stopped too early!!

  • Early stoppage? he couldnt defend the second punch (uppercut), he's not gonna be able to defend the guy standing over top of him raining punches. good stoppage.

  • @Steadno 1-2 sec but good stop im not arguing

  • not a good stoppage, but for a split second there it looked like he was done before he turned over. the ref probably realized it as soon as he stopped it.
