Conflict minerals are the source of one of Congo's deadliest conflicts. In November 2009, Enough Project consultant Sasha Lezhnev traveled to Congo to investigate the conflict minerals supply chain, beginning at the mouth of the mine. This is his story.
Greetings,
I began to work with two Congolese missionaries who traveled to the U.S. to raise awareness and offer durable solutions to end DRC genocide.
As a local community producer in NY I taped several interviews with these missionaries and our rally (on 12/10/10) in front of UN HQ, which included a brief interview with Margot Wallstrom - a UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict DRC.
I will be posting the videos before New Year and hope you tune in.

i'm noticing that you used apple media in some of your background music, which is ironic considering apple is a major player in the blood minerals situation. I guess that shows how difficult this situation is; technology is one of our key tools to fighting the problem, yet technology is also the cause of the problem. in something like this, boycotts don't really work because everyone is using conflict minerals... i guess the only option is demanding change. btw keep up the great work.

Miners are brave. We can be, too.

It's clear that we as voters have to create in our minds the category of "minerals of unknown source".
If American corporations buy "minerals of unknown source", they are making the market for "minerals of unknown source" a viable market and financing violent organized crime. WE are financing the purchase of the guns that are destroying these countries.
We through tea in the harbor because we had no representative government. Do these miners?
