  • steve,

I cannot agree with you more, we, in Israel, keep terrorist responsible for killing loads and maiming even more in jail and feed them, let them pray, and even get an education.

The death penalty should be implemented, so that prisoners cannot be used later as bargaining chips.

Israeli law is still based on UK law, which is a mistake, UK was not bombarded with terrorism, as Israel is.

  • They know that we love life and our people so much, that we value them so much, we pay such high prices. They do not value their own people so highly.

  • I generally don't like the idea of the death penalty, but under these circumstances Israel should implement it.

  • I also pray for Gilad and want him home, but if anything, the Palis are always saying that a Jew and a Pali are equal,so why should Israel give up loads of murderers for one soldier, who has never killed anyone?

I guess they are trying to prove that one thousand palis are equal to one Israeli. How else can the trade of hundreds or a thousand, for one, be explained?

We get Gilad back and give them one of the Pali prisoners that doesn't have blood on his hands yet.

  • dader,

I agree with you, in fact, my first time in Israel I was 17 yo, '83 and went to Jerusalem, there I saw a cemetery full of young tombstones.

Our guide explained that the Palis had taken these kids hostage when they were on a field trip from school and Israel refused to give into their demands, so all these young kids were killed.

Giving in to terrorist will not work and I am sure Gilad does not want more Jews to die, by letting out murderers.

The trade will only lead to more kidnappings.

  • I don't know and support Israel and its people, government and leadership.

I continue to dream and pray for a better day and world. Now we must continue the hard work for it.

  • I can't help but be disappointed and yet unsuprised that the world has not spoken out moew against such demands by hamas.

At a time when Israel has said that it will enter into immediate peace negotiations without preconditions and been met with feet dragging on the Palestinian side and demands of preconditions.

It is a hard choice. On 1 hand I think we should not give hamas anything for capturing & holding people hostage. That we demand release of Gilad Shalit & a change of charters.

  • If there was some people being held who were not guilty of a specific crime. It could be discussed and probably should be.

Do we really think it is ultimately good to trade guilty for innocent? Yes G-d is the ultimate judge of such issues. We are not here to judge, but as rational and intellectual people we must ourselves truely seek to find the balance that represents true justice.

I'm not sure giving tons of prisoners into a hostile region will help.

    I want Gilad Shalit home.

  • Sometimes I find myself torn here. On one hand I admire Israel's commitment to every single citizen and family in Israel. I sympathatize and pray for those held hostage. I pray for peace, for love and hope over hate and ignorance. I also sympathize and pray for those too many who have lost their lives and limbs from many of these people. For their families and for Israel as a nation & people.

I also do not think it is fair for a soldier to be treated as a bargaining tool for many prisoners.

  • Well you may be using what you say @ 1:59 are "Jewish and Israeli senses", but they certainly are not biblical senses, since God through Moses is perfectly clear about what government is to do & not do with murderers. You think you can rebel against God's ways & do what's right to your own "senses" and get away with that? that you know better than God?
