@RJY4356 Diller did some of the tanking commentary on the day of the STS-30 launch, which is what you can hear from him on the DVD. On a loosely related subject, I think the earliest launch Hugh Harris did (I like to call him the 'Jack King of the 80s') was the Viking launches in the 70's.

@ceredigio Yes, he was doing Delta and Atlas-Centaur launches in 1986... maybe earlier. I know he did Atlas-Centaur 66 on 12/4/86 and Atlas-Centaur 67 in March 1987...also did a Delta 179 launch in February 1987 I remember....surely others around that time.

But, ceredigio, I never saw any video of George Diller doing the STS-30 commentary. Only Hugh Harris.

Technically not - he also did part of the countdown commentary for STS-30 Magellan in May '89 (Hugh Harris did the actual launch sequence then). Does anyone know if Diller did any unmanned vehicle countdowns prior to STS-30?
