zLike all areas 40th & Mark has it's ups and it's downs. I have lived here since February 1991 Still living there today I'm a well known Photographer Initials T.T.T... I will admit there have been shootings and murders in the area also drugs but living in any urban area like this can have the same outcome.

So what do you think of the way Im videoing Philly? I do try to use this as a public service tool in any way I can. I like to safely film spots I believe could use attention, like South Street on Saturday nights during the summer(see South Street Invasion) & other problem areas. Have you viewed any of them? Ive had a few nice comments from other PPD officers, would love to hear yours, & any suggestions of future spots I could film that might help!

I did hear about the murders involving students a few times over the years, but did not realize it was right there. I've been naive all this time. Well thanks for educating me officer, really! Its funny how Penn creates this false sense of security in their campus region that kind of helped place my mind in a state of denial about that corner, even though I see all those guys just standing out there every day, all day long. That in itself should have been enough proof, right? Very interesting.

Well I stand corrected. Who could argue with someone in your position, I'd say youre the expert in that area for sure. I see your point, so those black guys standing on the corner of 40th & Market all the time arent just passing the time? I'm laughing right now because every time I walk by I generally have a lab coat on, I'm a researcher. Of course they would not offer me drug sales. I never saw anything that looked like drug transactions either, but maybe thats because their discrete, O.K.!
