This is the best bit in the piece.
This lot did it WAY TOO FAST.
The trumpet solo was also really sharp.

Yes, Ashley Johnson. She was my cello teacher =)

Yeah, I never liked that there either.
It seems to be the same with a lot of youth symphonies. After I moved to a different area, I decided not to rejoin my youth symphony when the manager told me she nearly didn't want me to play because I drew to much attention moving about during dance music. I was just having fun playing :P

Very funny- I'm listening to this and watching the actual movie at the same time. Bravo kids, Bravo!

Tacoma Youth Symphony was one of the best experiences of my life. These r some of the most talented kids in WA.

good job.this is my favorite piece composed by Gershwin. me and my band are gonna play it in china this summer.damn that trumpet soloist is sooooo lucky, gets to play that awesome solo....
HA! Wow. That's a flashback. The principal cellist in this recording was my one and only cello teacher I've ever had :P
She's the daughter of the conductor, so I was at their house every week.
And the rialto theater...my theory class was an hour after rehearsals, so I'd go in during the rehearsals there and listen to the older groups play. How I miss that.

who, ashley?

they probably don't show the soloists when they play their solos because they make sour faces as they play out of tune
