For 10k, you should be able to find a nice, properly maintained alfa in that price range.
Remember, these cars are at least 20 years old now so any 20 year old car will require maintenance, even a 20 year old Honda.
The most important factor is making sure that the car was properly maintained and if possible have all service records. Rust is another issue to look for.
