kinda sounds like a 2 stroke
-
i could watch these engines all day, there is somthing hypnotic about them. thanks for posting.
-
*I meant cycles.
-
where can i get one
-
Actually it has 5 separate strokes, starting from top dead center:
-Power
-Exhaust(the pressure opens the automatic exhaust valve)
-Intake(the pressure drops and closes the exhaust valve, the automatic intake valve opens)
-Exhaust(the intake valve closes and the pressure makes the excess exhaust gas going out)
-Compression(the piston leaves the valve area and compresses the mix until the spark jumps at the top dead center.
Then it repeats again.
-
i got 2 of them at the yard

wait so when the piston is bottom dead center how come the exhaust doesnt shoot out the intake?

@superfunnyman123 Hi, the Loyal cycle engines used valves to control the gas flow; this engine uses ports.

rly cool. what does the valve at the top do? is it just a brake or for adjusting ignition timing? or something else all together. Since its a 2 stroke those are the only thins i could think of other then throttle to adjust rpm.

The lever on top is the timer lever, straight up is firing top dead center. You can also adjust the speed of the engine by richening or leaning the mixture out.

Is the fuel system pressure feeded by the exhaust?

It pulls intake in like a normal engine. Those bubbles in the tank are from it pulling air thru the gas & running off vapor from the gasoline.
