Dementia (taken from latin, originally meaning "madness", from de- "without" + ment, the root of mens "mind") is a serious loss of cognitive ability in a previously unimpaired person, beyond what might be expected from normal aging. It may be static, the result of a unique global brain injury, or progressive, resulting in long-term decline due to damage or disease in the body. Although dementia is far more common in the geriatric population, it may occur in any stage of adulthood.

Dementia is not merely a problem of memory. It reduces the ability to learn, reason, retain or recall past experience and there is also loss of patterns of thoughts, feelings and activities . Additional mental and behavioral problems often affect people who have dementia, and may influence quality of life, caregivers, and the need for institutionalization. As dementia worsens individuals may neglect themselves and may become disinhibited, the individual may become incontinent as their condition worsens . Depression affects 20--30% of people who have dementia, and about 20% have anxiety. Psychosis (often delusions of persecution) and agitation/aggression also often accompany dementia. Each of these needs to be assessed and treated independent of the underlying dementia.

    Dude, you're awesome.

  • @glenncatch22davis Yum, yum. Look at this pity party I have been reading! I find it odd that you are attempting to persuade jfleshdprop to stop posting videos that he keeps for his own memories. I see that jfleshdprop is using YouTube as a metaphorical memento box to keep the memories of his father and to share his story. What? You wanna 1v1 in Halo 3 now noob because you just became SO pissed of? Call of Duty maybe? Fucking internet chess?

  • @glenncatch22davis Also, it's not really a trick since the descriptions are of what's going on in the video. And yes, you are just a fat bloke from England. But, that's ok. My dad use to be, too. Before dementia.

  • @glenncatch22davis Firstly, I'm not going to have a religious/spiritually debate with you 'cause you'd lose and it's a waste of time. Secondly, your videos suck and it's sad that at your age they are nothing but an imitation of videos made by people half your age. Thirdly, obviously I must be right in how I've marketed my videos because you watched it and we've had this ongoing debate which is how good art works. If it's on going in your head, then it works.

  • @glenncatch22davis

Just like my vids aren't funny, neither are yours. Your channel sucks. Don't quit your day job.

  • @glenncatch22davis

I'd also like to add(cause I love to gloat) some care workers are using some of my videos to help educate and train care workers about dementia which is what these videos are for. They are under the categories of people and vlogs & education, not comedy or entertainment. I'm, yet again, not getting paid to educate people from the coming plague of dementia. Don't project your sad little intentions for youtube onto me. Your sad little attempts at

    comedy.

  • @jfleshdprop And fuck you for judging me like you're god. I don't get paid for this or find it amusing that I've given up my life to help take care of him. So take your judgements and shove them back up your asshole where they came from. And as for flagging this, you're not the first and won't be the last and the videos are still here. In the end

GOD IS LAUGHING AT ALL OF OUR SUFFERING, DUMBASS.

  • @glenncatch22davis No, you're the sick one. I, with my mother, take good care of my father everyday. The title and the pieces are designed to trick people into watching something they would have no interest in watching and that's something as horrible as dementia. This is a plague that has stolen my father from me and is coming for us all. This could be you, or me or any of us someday. But, go run and hide like the coward I know you are and pray to your fake god Jesus.

  • @glenncatch22davis

Amusive behaviour? Freudian slip. Admit it. You laughed at my families suffering!!! Didn't you? Didn't you?!!!

  • @glenncatch22davis

Who said this was entertainment? What's wrong with you? This is documentary. And there is no dignity in reality. We are all born to shit ourselves when we die.
