The days catch after fly fishing from Hobie Kayaks at Arthurs Lake in Tasmania. Most fish caught were taken either on a Claret Nymph at the bottom or dibbling the Bibbio Hopper on the top. One fish chased the Bibbio while it was floating in the breeze 3 inches above the water. It was a great days fishing. Thank you Monty and Thank You Mr Hobie.

  • Hi Dunamisjc,

I normally travel to Tassie every year in Feb with the Ballarat Fly Fishers. This year we had a great time at Arthurs. We caught a lot of fish in and around Flintstones Bay. We launched at Pumphouse and headed right from the ramp into Flintstones and drifted along the bay. We had most success with a Bibio Hopper on the top and a Claret Nymph on the point. We caught a lot of fish one day by dibbling the hopper on the top of the water and other days we caught fish on the nymph.

  • Lots of nice fat trout that will never breed or be caught again. For some reason trout fisherman are the only ones who think they can catch all they want and keep it.

  • Way to kill all your trout

  • Nice to see you being nice and sustainable and only taking what you need.

  • Brilliant. I love fishing arthurs and just bought a hobie. Can I get some tips from you?
