they did gave away louisiana, but the english "' conquered"" acadia, quebec, montreal, and a lot of forts in the ohio country that were french. The english did win the indian american war and took quebec as prize..this was some 50 years before france did gave away louisiana.

@juron76 well Im not Canadienne (a French Canadian), but I am American and I have to say I feel angry that Europe took this land from the Native Americans... the terrible genocide that was involved... this is a very beautiful song, and yes the British greed (wanting all of North America) was terrible...

@monk1588 this is from Battle of the Brave... New France (extending from Quebec to New Orleans) wasnt really "conquered" by England, France gave it up when they were losing too much money fighting to keep it... The British wanted all of North America for some reason...

I am a man and I am not Canadian neither American, but I couldn't avoid to feel anger against the British and a terrible sadness for the lost of Nouvelle France to the point of crying at end of this beautiful and inspiring song. Vive Nouvelle France!!!

@2009Oktober100 Look for On ne Change Pas. It's a double disc compilation of her greatest hits.

They should have released this great song (and the movie to go with it), this year, for the 400th anniversary of the Quebec-City!
