  • Oh My God, Tina Turner and Marc Bolan collaborated? I think I'm gonna die of happiness...

@TheMikesMaiden Yes, I wish Marc was the one to have rescued Tina from the awful Ike! They would've made a great couple, and perhaps would've inspired each other musically as well.

  • Genius on all parts. Loved the song from day 1!

  • LOOK HERE! Someone bloody well tell me please...

Did Mr Bolan or did Mr Bolan not play the guitar riff on this song.

Sick as a chip at the conflicting opinions...

    XXX

  • I was always curious as to where "Ike" suddenly came up w/ a bad ass riff like this one. How cool that Bolan actually played it. Sounds just like him-

  • church house, gin house. a usual sabbath for me then

  • Tina Turner (born Anna Mae Bullock; November 26, 1939)

  • I've been a Bolan fan since White Swan and a Tina fan since River Deep. I've seen them both live many times and I've been to Nutbush Tennessee where they no longer put up the city limit sign as they keep being stolen!! The guitar riff on Nutbush is classic Bolan. Ike's style was completely different. Ike may have discovered Tina but River Deep was effectively a Tina solo release and she wrote Nutbush. Tina carried Ike for so long and as we know became a mega-star after showing him the door.

  • Sounds like Bolan but can't be. Ronnie Wood of The Stones was at the recording session and saw Ike and Tina recording the track and never made any mention of Marc Bolan being there or playing on it. Collaborations by established artists in the 60's/70's were very rare. Phil Spector even had to pay Ike Turner $25,000 dollars cash to stay out of the session and let his then wife do the vocal on River Deep Mountain High.

  • I was just thinking the same thing! I am a big Gloria supporter, But how awesome would Marc and Tina been?.. But I say that cause I've been a Tina Turner fan my whole life, in fact I was dancing to her music before I could walk.

  • ooooweee hot damn!!

  • if you can't rock to this then give up!!!!

    Rob Wilson.....

  • Dude, Tina Turner was hot.
