Chomsky must learn to understand that the U.S., when it does not comply with the will of the U.N. is acting in the manner of civil dissidents. Chomsky has no problem with civil disobedience. Why then should he hold a country to a higher standard. Why should a country not be allowed to act in accordance with its conscience, even when it violates international law? For that matter, what makes international law so holy in Chomsky's eyes?

No matter where you stand, what country you are or what media source(s) you ascribe to that either vilify, grudgingly welcome or embrace Chomsky's views, we must all accept here is a man of honesty.
not to crack the pretentious whip: "Aye Sir to be honest is to be one man plucked out of ten thousand."

Corruption exsists where the power is greatest in any model.

I wonder where the hell Chomsky finds all the time to learn all this History and Politics, when he's a full time Linguistics professor!

@bootleg42 I did look up Catalonia 1936, and I think you converted me from socialized capitalism. Thank you!
Worker ownership and democratic management of cooperatives > Investor ownership and capital management of corporations
Worker's co-ops appear to combine the efficiency of capitalism with more equitable distribution of profits! And markets bolster worker solidarity instead of undermining it! Plus, the models are compatible, allowing a nonviolent transition! To implementation! = )

@immanent Markets exploit the poor by nature; the playing field is rigged to disproportionately reward the rich beyond their value to society. The rich aristocracy buys votes through campaign contributions and media buyout by advertisers. Artificial demand for jobs (glut of labor) is constantly manufactured through wars, IMF requirements, trade policy, and various intimidation methods. Different local taxes produce a regressive race to the bottom to attract business, and profits are stolen.

Socialism is so evil. Who in their right mind would want to give control to the masses, protect them, care for them and abolish inequality? Boo to the hippy do-gooders who want to take the power away from the profit generating machinery of our civilised societies and give it to the ordinary people. Down with control by consensus, we can't trust people who don't have any money or are not pleasing to look at. Our leaders are godlike and deserve our absolute obedience.
