Once it was established that Gates was the owner of the home -- the officer should have known he was on very shaky constitutional ground, and left immediately. When he HAND-CUFFED Gates, he clearly violated his constitutional rights. Even lawyers on Fox Snooze agree with that.
It was stupid for the cop to hand-cuff Gates. That is what Obama said. he didnt call him a racist. He said it was a stuoid thing to do, to haul him down to the station.
He was WITHOUT QUESTION correct. It was stupid.

Name one actual example of a Democratic policy, regarding guns, free speech, states rights, or private property -- which "takes away" any of your constitutional rights.
This is what drives me crazy about "conservatives." You guys believe the EXACT OPPOSITE of the truth, and you just DONT CARE.
Democrats and progressives (see ACLU website) fight more for your constitutional rights than Republicans ever did. Republicans are for corporate rights -- WalMart. Not the local hardware store.

It's sad that this whole thing has become about race. It's clear that there was no racism involved and the professor is very sensitive when it comes to the "white man keeping him down". The real problem here is the fact that the arrest was completely unlawful. He arrested the man on his own property for yelling at him. If you don't like it, get the fuck off of his property. Complete abuse of power. Obama should put down the beer and look at the ridiculous amount of power police have.

Gates was arrested outside of his house on a bullshit charge. Crowley would not have been able to arrest Gates inside of his house. This entire arrest is a travesty of the law and shows piss poor police work. Race has nothing to do with this arrest, but a damanged ego is most likely the culprit.
