It's from the 'Classic Albums: The Band", published by Eagle Rock Entertainmment.

It's like 12 dollars on Amazon (I'd link but Youtube doesn't allow comments to have them now).

The whole thing has a lot more songs than just the brown album and has a lot more of this kinda stuff. It rocks.

Amazing! When was this done? Levon and Robbie did not do anything together much after Waltz' but this is definitely post Waltz. Can that really be Levon? This whole clip sort of blows my mind. Totally make me smile (although it really is unbelievable)...Thanks so much for the post!

You are correct--post Waltz, 1997. This was all shot and produced in 1996 as far as I can tell.

If you get the full DVD, you'll note that Robbie never appears with anyone else. According to Levon's book, everyone, even John Simon, got fed up with Robbie over the handling of payments with The Last Waltz and abuse of royalty payments from some of their albums.

Basically, despite being one of the best concert films of all time, none of the band members made a dime over the Last Waltz.

@painxtreme I greatly apologize for my grammar on the previous post. Another knife in the back of musicianship are the bands that go into it purely for commercial success and fame. The best bands are always the ones that write songs purely for their own enjoyment, and if the public gets it, bonus. I'll break my name dropping for just one person, because many of us are trying to draw him out of seclusion. That would be Robbie Steinhardt of Kansas, what a talent and kind soul he is,

@ttraynor1 We don't get musicianship anymore, because music is now based on pretty faces, and how they look in jeans. In the 60s an 70s, you had some mud fence-ugly people making fantastic music, they wouldn't get a second look today. I know a few of the bands Im thinking of, and Im not gonna mention any, of course, because their looks is not what comes out of their instruments. The music business has fucked itself every bit as much as napster & other peer sharing did.
