After Effects ball animation Particular

A new animation, based on one already on youtube.

I could not find any tutorial but i loved the technique that was used. Took a long time to recreate it, and i know the end result is not brilliant, but all that mattered to me is to know how it was done, so i can use it in future projects.

Video was created in After Effects with Particular. There are 3 particular layers, one on the background, and 2 in front of the main particle. The balls are animated by a spherical field, linked to a null object, the same null object as the main particle. So when it moves the sphere joins.
