Eagle Eye director DJ Caruso has been pegged to direct Dead Space, based on the Electronic Arts vid game by the same name. EA is working on 2nd and 3rd installments of the game, and you can be sure they're hoping to do the same with movies.
Paradox Entertainment, who is developing films based on Conan the Barbarian, Kull, and Solomon Kane, has inked a deal with Dark Horse Comics to publish comics and graphic novels based on those properties.
All three are well known among comic circles and its hoped that new books will create some excitement around the properties before the movies are released. The Solomon Kane movie comes out on October 28th.

The Guinness Book of World Records has honored Doctor Who with the title, Most successful SciFi series of all time. No doubt there are plenty of fans of multi-billion dollar earning scifi series Star Trek who might have something to say about that, but its apparently out of their hands. For now, Dr. Who, which began back in 1963, has been given the title.
Last weeks episode featured an interview with Lance Henriksen. This week we have news on the famed SciFi actor. It seems there is a major fan effort by fans of Henriksens TV show Millennium turned into a movie. The show, which ran from 1996 to 1999, featured Henriksen playing the character Frank Black, a former FBI profiler who had the ability to look into the mind of criminals. The organization fronting the effort to have a movie made is called Back to Frank Black. There are already hundreds of fans involved in this effort and Lance Henriksen himself is encouraging them to keep up the good work.

Warcraft players, listen up. There is to be a new live-action film based on the popular game series and its to be directed by none other than Sam Raimi. The director of the first three Spider-Man films will be working on pre-production of the Warcraft movie while filming Spider-Man 4.
In yet more vidgame-turned-movie news, the 1986 game Castlevania is finally to be turned into a movie and will be helmed by James Wan, who directed hit horror flick, Saw.
The network formerly known as the SciFi Channel has announced a date for the premiere of its new Battlestar Galactica prequel series, Caprica. The new series pilot will air on January 22nd of next year. The show is set nearly six decades before the recent Battlestar Galactica series.
A group of comedians, collected by production company American Original, will be producing a new graphic novel series called Comedy Death Ray. Its hoped that the graphic novels will be a hit and will then be converted into TV shows or films.
And finally, the largest auction of Hollywood props in history is taking place right now. Harvey Schwartzs 20th Century Props is closing after 40 years and all of its items are being auctioned off. Among the many, many interesting items being auctioned off are Howard Hughes real desk, that was also used in the film Aviator, in which Leo Decaprio played Hughes, a large prop of a T Rex skeleton, and aliens from the X-Files. The bulk of the auction is happening now online and in person, assuming you watch this episode by Saturday, August 1st, and the remainder will be sold online from August 3rd through the tenth.
