Our group of three boats decided to stop in Taiwan to see the factory where our boats were built (Nordhavn's Ta Shing factory). We thought it would be cool to see where our boats were 'born'. The shipyard also thought it was cool, and threw a little party for our arrival at the dock. Ta Shing has built 1,200 boats, but we are the very first boats to ever return to the shipyard. This video is something Ta Shing threw together quickly to commemorate our arrival.

  • Not only the first Nordhavns ever to return to Ta Shing, but almost certainly the first US flagged vessels, too.

  • @proscriptus You may be right. I seriously doubt another American Flagged vessel has ever entered this port. Wild to think! (Ken Williams - Nordhavn 68, Sans Souci)

  • The boats were all built in Taiwan?

  • @neildaust I cannot seem to respond to comments. I get an error. Very frustrating

  • @neildaust Yes. All three built in taiwan. If you check my blog for today July 8 I put pictures from the factory, kensblog.com

  • what a welcome for you guys Ken :)

  • WOW, what a great welcome. Unfortunately, something no American company would do and certainly something that no American employee would agree to do. Too bad... There is something very endearing to genuine customer service and appreciation...

  • Cool, nice welcome they gave you =) Looks like nice weather for it too.

  • Yes. All three of them were built in Taiwan by Ta Shing Manuf. Company, a well established yacht manufacturing base.
