a time of different weather

was longer than the time together

when the hours off the phone
felt like days all alone
and the days between touch
felt like long long winter months

but now you are here
the skies have started to clear
warmth runs through me
like summers finest breeze

now time together is common
almost close enough to feel
but some nights we spend apart
it seems to pause what is real

although we share this small town
that's never too far to pick me up
