@XCritonX We don't know that they were gay unless they left any diaries that would imply desire for other men. I would jut call these men "misogynists".

So a bunch of gay priests didn't like or respect women? Shocking, just shocking!

@rynnildreamwhisper Good luck with your writing - it can be very painful (I'm working on a similar piece whilst trying to get a good degree, ha...) but it's worth it in the end. Yes, series like this are really great for getting the world building just right. You should check out the Classical and Medieval Reviews for articles about the latest academic papers and books. I've found them both to be really useful for links and of course fascinating.

@Sapphonouveau That's why I'm grateful for this series. Hopefully it will improve my writing. And if it is then taken as less credible because the customs I show are not what are normally thought of as medieval standards, well that's the glorious thing about fantasy isn't it? It doesn't have to be seen as real, even if it is.

What he didn't mention was that Margery Kempe was a very prolific religious writer.

The ads freezing the playback are F-ing annoying.

The music in this series always makes me think of Blackadder

More fantasy writers/modern feminists/people in general need to watch this series. Especially fantasy writers.

@Aquaria Hahaha that could be a lot of fun if your "equipment" wasn't broke at all hahaha;
It's ironic that it takes a comedian teaching history for me to take the subject seriously. I love this series.

Actually Terry Jones is basically a genius. He knows five languages last I checked. The best humor in absurdity come from madness or genius.
Terry Jones is certainly the second.
