When I went to India this summer I fell in love with Indian Spiced Chai! I was walking by in Tikketi and saw this woman selling chai from her home. It was absolutely delicious! I talked to her and she described to me how she makes her own chai masala, which is the spices mixture used to make the tea. Of course, when I cambe back home I had to try it and I actually customized it to my taste! Today we are making Chai Masala the easy way, by using ground spices that you can find in any supermarket instead of griding whole spices as many people do. Anyhow, Indian Spiced Chai will become your go to beverage starting now!

  • Thank you very much for this! I did not have the same spices, but using your preparation, and the spices that I did (using a pinch of garam masala since I don't have any cardamom) I now have a pretty decent cup of tea.

  • @Vireochan I hope you can try it again with cardamom - that's the big thing that makes this tea special!!!

  • Can I use black tea teabags? If yes, how many tea bags I would need?

  • @Dimanta I dont think it's easy to infuse tea bags in milk. You should try and see. this tea works best with loose tea!

  • It looks amazing, its just such a shame it takes so long to make :( if i want a nice warm drink, all i have to do is press a button on the cappucino machine, is it really worth the 20 minutes in the kitchen to make this?

  • @Dwergideon it actually only take 10 minutes to make! once you prepare the spice mix, you can just make a big batch and keep it your kitchen cabinet. To make the tea itself, it is just 10 mn.

  • I have a "Chai tea" tea bag. Can I substitute any of the ingredients your mentioning with the contents of this tea bag? Thank you!

  • I would rather use...fresh spices....than dry powders...it taste bettter. One more thing mam.. two table spoon of masala is too much....really too much. I would never use that much masala even in my dinner recipe. 1/2 table spoon would be enough, when boiled well with tea before pouring milk and sugar.

  • hi, this is very nice , but how can i make it without the milk ?

  • Thank you for the video! I love Chai and have been trying to make it like I had when I was in India. Your video really helps.

  • This is the best Chai Tea instructional video I've seen & I've watched many. You are very clear & make it easy. Thank you! I cannot wait to try your recipe.

  • @Dwergideon yes, it's worth every single minute! :-)

  • Well anyway, I had tried this recipe today & it turned out really really good! Blv me, I never had such an amazing cup of tea before...... Thank you so much, Alia!

  • Can I use whole spices for that?

  • Hi Alia,

I add my tea powder to the spiced water before adding the milk...it gives nice color to the tea..try it..it tastes great..

  • this looks great I wrote down the recipie and left it on my fridge, because I drink tea or coffee 2 0r 3 times a day. this is a great recipie!!
