agree that the term "Aikido" is not ancient-but the priciples are. taking the balance of the attacker while utilizing decreasing radius circular movements and lowering one's center of gravity are the founding principles of the arts that are derived from Daitō-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu. Ueshiba refined these principles and practiced from a philosophy of "love for humanity". However the root art was a combat proven exacting method of disarticulating the human body. Practice well

Aikido is not an ancient art. The founder passed away in the 1969. My insignificant opinion based on Morihei Ueshiba's teachings is that he would agree that this is a regression of his vision. Although I think the video's label is misleading as this is more of an Aiki-Jujitsu demo.

This, to me, is a regression of the Aikido philosophy. The flow is remove and replaced with short, choppy, blows. Changes to an acient art should be progressive not regressive--just my opinion--others may perfer this to the traditional style. I don't.

this is mix of akido and jiu jitsu
look carefully and read for once

I dig this! Not sure if it should be called Aikido, but if it is it's some of the best Aikido I've ever seen. I do wish the attacker would be as violent as the defender though.

This completely defeats the purpose of Aikido.
it's not Aikido, perhaps a hybrid of Aikido technique but this is far, far to brutal.
That said after seeing this I appreciate Aikido even more and if I where the Uki in any situation on or off the mat I'm thankful i do Aikido.

fire 1969 is in true :Aikido is completely different maybe this is Aikijutsu but you can't call it Aikido.

this music sucks
FYI--If you take a knife from someone and stab them with it, then you become the aggressor. May complicate the reasonable force issue if the attacker
gets disarmed and then stabbed or killed. No need to stab the attacker once you have control of the situation.

Maybe need to change name in something else. Aikido is inappropriate.
