Nederlander Theatre- Before and After Rent

Very sad (in my opinion)

Pictures of the Nederlander Theatre while Rent was there, and now with Guys and Dolls. The building is very depressing looking now. :-(

ok so i just heard that Guys and Dolls is closing on broadway...and this pisses me off because they in my opinion ruined the theatre and they didn't even have a good run! they didn't even last a year!!!!! *PISSED OFF*

yeah..... my biggest peeve is that they took off the Rent paint on the outside... so many people wrote things on the wall on how Rent saved their life and things like that, and it's almost like they didn't care! I know they couldn't keep Rent stuff up forever, but at least redo the theatre for a worthwhile show!!!

and my school has to do it next year :-( I'm very sad

i just went to new york over spring break and i'm contemplating making a second video with the way the theatre looks now.... It still (in my opinion) is extremely ugly and very dpressing.. I had the hardest time even looking at it :-(

I guess i worded it wrong...

I just wanted people to see how it looked without all the Rent paint and such, and it just so happened that the Guys and Dolls Marquee was already up!

I miss RENT!! It really changed so many lives... by the way, in case it hasn't been mentioned, "For Good" is from Wicked, not RENT, though of course I'm sure you know that...

yeah i know, i loved reading all of the comments that people wrote on the wall, personally i think they should of kept those up forever just because how big Rent was and all, and everyone knows it was at that theatre.....

I liked it with the rent stuff up. knowing that they destroyed happy memories that people cherish, aka tarnishing public propety with cool stuff.

it makes me sick that they would do that to the rent theater.

wow. unfourtnately i never got to see rent on broadway but i did see them when they toured and i fell in love with it. when i see how much effort it took to take a run-down theater and make it into something beautiful like that, it makes it even more sad how its so boring now. it doesnt even look like a theater in my opinion.
