It's spring and the sage-grouse are out strutting their stuff. Lynn Chamberlain goes out on the Great Basin plateau in southwestern Utah to view this comical and interesting courtship dance from this fascinating bird.
Oh we have these here in Gillette Wyoming I have wanted to get out and see them. This is a have to do this spring. Out here in our energy conservation of oil, natural gas, methane, and coal retrivals, if they are out doing their thing the trucks have to wait to pass. It causes havoc in the work patterns. But I have to see these guys.

Several of the birds are banded. There is quite a bit of research going on now with sage grouse.
