Costa Rica defender Dennis Marshall dies in road accident in San José

The Costa Rica defender Dennis Marshall was killed in a road accident on Thursday.
The 25-year-old Marshall, who played for Danish club Aalborg, died five days after scoring his first goal for his country in Costa Rica's Concacaf Gold Cup quarter-final against Honduras. Local media said he was killed in a head-on collision with a truck on a mountain road in eastern San José.
His agent Jorge Ulloa told a local radio station: "It's incredible, I can't believe it ... You never know what's going to happen to you tomorrow, but that's life."
The Costa Rica coach, Ricardo La Volpe, said: "He was a young man with a bright future, well loved for his easy-going nature ... We're all shocked, it's a blow."
