In this video I will showing you how to upgrade the RAM on the MSI Wind U123-001 netbook from 1gb to 2gb.

The RAM I used is the PNY 2gb DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) which can be bought here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820178165

The netbook specs:

10.2" screen
160gb HDD
1gb RAM/ now 2gb RAM
Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz
GPU- GMA950
6-cell battery/ 5.5 hours of battery life

  • @thegoodbyeheaven Vista would be pretty slow on netbook computers due to its memory usage. I would recommend skipping Vista and going straight to Windows 7 which should be just as fast as Windows XP with all the new features and looks that windows Vista has.

  • @ntlane2004 If you're talking about upgrading the RAM, however, then you shouldn't have any problem with upgrading regardless of what operating system is on it. Thanks for watching!

  • hey im trying to upgrade my ram only i tryed a 1bg and it dident read it, i then tryed a 512 from my lap top and it dident read that either, is there someing i need to do in the OS so it reads the new Ram. Thanks in advance. p.s im running xp.
