Captured live on 3/24/2011 @ Kansas City's own The Riot Room. High-quality video coming soon!

Dedicated to Carl Sagan, Phil Plait, Bob Novella (and the rest of The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe), and anyone else who can't keep their eyes off the skies.

Lyrics:
Lately I've been thinking about terraforming Venus; been
getting kinda tired of life on Earth.
Plus, ya know, this place is getting kind of crowded... So I
asked Dr. Sagan what to do about the C-oh-

Two, since the planet is a massive greenhouse.
Plus, ya know, we're probably gonna wanna breath. Can we
turn it into ox-y-gen? I hope that'll
Stop the acid rain and quench the heat.

Chorus:
Terraforming Venus is a daunting task. I know it
sure as hell ain't easy, but we gotta try be-cause our
poor ol' planet Earth just isn't gonna last.
Oh no, we're gonna drain that motherfucker dry!

Verse 2:
So raise a solar shield or make one that's magnetic;
I don't really care as long as we're safe.
Floating out in space like a giant sail;
Soakin' up the solar wind and givin' us shade.

Maybe do something to increase her albedo, though
first we'd need to mitigate the c-o-2 clouds, or
We could engineer some new bacteria
to gradually sequester her carbon shroud
(though without importing lots of hydrogen
THAT plan is BOUND to fail!)

(chorus)

And then there's the fact that the days on Venus are so, so, so long;
One hundred and sixteen point seven five of ours.
Speeding her up is a problem i don't think that we'll ever solve;
Maybe we should say screw this and move to Mars?

(chorus) x2
