i had a teacher my sophomore year who did the "well in my opinion" thing. but he was also a really lenient guy who let you get away with a lot of shit. but as long as its taught as mythology i dont mind.

I agree with you that all religion is mythology. I also agree with you that the teacher is wrong with "promoting" christianity.
However, at the beginning where you talk about the stuff where you say how you don't know how all this is related to christianity. All that which you stated can be tied in by early "mythology".
Other than that, hope the teacher leans his lesson.
-History FTW!

he had knee replacement surgery that did not take very well. during his time off before the corrective surgery he broke the leg. as for me answering for him... just did... haven't even told him about it.

since the school chooses not to communicate with me, i can only make my own guesses as to what is going on. you are not "obliged" to tell me anything. it does not excite me that someone is hurt and rather presumptive of you to say so. keep your views, but don't upset my family by forcing them on me in public school. and just curious to know why you are answering for him?
The 'plan' seem ok, what about the teacher ?
He use the class to spread HIS view, of what is right ?
I had to bring the subject up in my daughters school.
A religious community here, r trying to 'lure' the children over by arranging a lot of activities.
That's fine. But it always contain praising 'the lord'.
One of the ppl r a teacher on the school.
I explained how I felt. It stopped after that.
My wife is a Bhudist. If something should thought, it's the bhudist view on life.

yeah, i hear ya. there was definately an agenda there. i've had to go talk to chorus teacher when they try to make her sing and perform gospel songs. they don't like it but they stop it when you bring it to their attention.

Do they teach the kids about dragons, unicorns, giants, men who can fly up into the air, talking snakes & men who can live to be 900 years old? It's all in the bible & finding the missing rosetta stone will prove it to be true! ROFLOL What a bunch of idiots.

tallooly- I noticed your :) after your "leave of absence comment". I am obliged to write and tell you the conditions which has caused his absence. My father, David Lawson fell and severely broke his leg early winter. As I am sure this excites you I can tell you that it is no smiling matter for our family. Your views are exactly that - yours. I have mine and my dad has his. I hope your daughter has a great year and much success in the future.

and just out of curiosity, how did he announce his leave of absence to the class before he took his leave of absence? did he know he was going to break a leg?
