Maigret cannot really be said to smoke in this clip. All the same, it made me want a pipe. I was also very glad to see him brought a bottle a beer.

Yes, he is not actually smoking, but I selected this clip because it shows what that strange and mysterious tripod which all pipe smokers have is used for. I also like this clip because it shows Maigret finishing cleaning a pipe and immediately picking another for a new smoking session.

@carminum This "tripod" is called a "Czech Pipe Tool" (in English at least), I've heard Germans just call it a "Dämpfer" (tamper or damper).
